Choose the format of the curriculum

There are two basic formats for resumes. Each format helps you organize your information in a different way. First of all, make sure you choose the right resume format that works for you.

Mayra Basteris, Vocational Counselor at Women at Work says, “With a chronological resume, you’re going to do is put the most recent job you ever had and you’ll put the dates you worked and what you have done in this work.” Also called the ‘functional resume’ which focuses on your skills. “If a person has not worked for a long time, for example if you have years we’ve worked with, and do not know how to explain it on the resume you want summary- do is to summarize than chronological, but that is functional in where you can show your skills, “explains Basteris us.

Chronological Resume

Focus on employment history
Organized by titles, companies and dates
Present your work experience in reverse chronological order
The best format if you had continued employment and job listings are impressive

The chronological resume focuses on your work history. It is organized by titles, companies and dates. Your employment history is listed in reverse chronological order. This format is suitable if you have a history of continuous work and your job listings are impressive.

Functional Curriculum

Show selected skills and areas of expertise
It focuses on job growth & achievements
The dates and places of work are not included
The sections can be arranged in any order

The functional resume denote selected skills and areas of expertise that are profitable. It gains and job growth are denoted. Dates of employment are not included and sections can be arranged in any order. This format is recommended if you have gaps in your work history or if you want to change careers.

If you’re worried because you’ve been out of the workforce for a while-here are some other things to consider including them on your resume.

The cover letter explains why you are sending your resume and how you heard about the position. The letter should be short and specific to the position for which you are applying.

Leopoldo Calderas Alvarez, Man Power Manager says, “Usually in a cover letter or cover, or ‘cover letter’ as it is called in English, so we are looking to establish a contact with a person.”

Our experts say that if you have a period of time without working on your work history, you could say that you took the time to develop your skills. “For example, you can say you went to travel and learn from different cultures. And as you learn about different cultures, now you can apply what you learned to work with the public, “says Basteris.

And never hesitate to ask for help!

Visit job search sites on the Internet, go to your local library or Career Center. They can help you perfect your resume.

Knechele Reed, Permanent Placement Consultant Power Man says, “If you have not called or you have not given any interview, that suggests you should ask someone to review your resume. This is because there may be some things left in the curriculum and they can help you with that. ”

It is not required that your resume contains a list of references. You can provide them in the interview.
